Optimal clamping time in meatotomy procedure for children with meatal stenosis: Experience with 120 cases

Objective: During meatotomy procedure for children with meatal stenosis (MS), a straight clamp used as hemostat on the ventrum of meatus before incised scissors clamping and holding bleeding from site operation. The aim this study was to evaluate optimum time in MS. Materials methods: All patients MS between 2014 2019 were enrolled retrospective study. Patients uncircumcised penis, traumatic catheterization, any kind penile abnormality such hypospadias or curvature, active urinary tract infection (UTI) excluded. indication pinpoint that develops dorsal lateral deflection stream high-velocity urine flow. procedure, examined different groups 2, 3, 4 minutes. main symptoms presentation ultrasonography (US) findings recorded compared groups. To assess clamping, postoperative noted carefully all success rate at onemonth follow-up clinic. Results: Of 120 who underwent there 40 (33.3%) participants each group. painful urination deviation represented 54 (46%) patients. Bladder wall thickness pre-operation finding US which observed 67 (55.8%) In comparison related time, required suturing when applied 2 minutes (3.3%) (p = 0.016). With minimum 12 months, no recurrent reported. Conclusions: Clamping more than may prevent during after meatotomy.
